On the eve of the Polish Army Day, Professor Julian Eugeniusz Kulski was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He previously held the rank of Major. Professor Kulski was one of the officers who received the commission document from the Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak at the Ministry’s Warsaw headquarters. The Minister thanked those present for their perseverance in serving their homeland and emphasized that the promoted servicemen and women shared a timeless spirit of integrity and patriotism.
Professor Kulski was the only Warsaw Uprising veteran promoted on that day. During the ceremony, promotions and other distinctions were given to active-duty officers, military athletes and the best civilian employees of the Ministry.
Professor Kulski gave a speech in which he thanked for the promotion and referred to the unique significance of the date of the event, which is inextricably linked with the Warsaw Uprising.
Professor Kulski also spoke of his father, the Mayor of the occupied Warsaw, the brave wartime City Hall officials and all those who took a stand to fight for the free Warsaw.
